Filippo Candio is from Sardinia, Italy and is 26 years old. Candio is a skilled tournament player and won €140,000 at the Italian Pro Championship in San Remo in 2009. Before turning pro, Candio studied Greek and Latin in school and was considering becoming a lawyer.

The 26-year-old is the first Italian to ever make it to the WSOP Main Event final table. He will start the final table with 16,400,000 in chips. On making it to the final table, Candio said, "Now that I'm a part of the November Nine, I feel it's my great opportunity... It's amazing."
