Definition: To put in a bet. Usually this refers to a forced bet, as in the blinds in Texas Hold'em. When you enter a new poker game at a casino, you may be asked if you would like to "post", putting in the amount of the big blind, which will allow you to enter the game now or wait until the big blind reaches you and enter then.
Examples:
Lily was daydreaming so the dealer had to remind her it was her turn to post the big blind. Embarrased, she put in the chips for the big blind and the dealer started dealing the hand.
