Howard Lederer's Vital Stats:
Howard Lederer was born in Concord, New Hampshire and lives in Las Vegas with his wife Suzie and son Matthias. He's also fellow poker pro Annie Duke's big brother, and taught her to play in the late 80s. Ironically, Annie Duke has knocked her brother out of 3 tournaments. Still, Lederer isn't hurting for tournament wins and has won 2 World Series of Poker bracelets and 2 World Poker Tour championships.
Howard Lederer's Poker Nickname:
“The Professor"
Howard Lederer at the Poker Table:
At the poker table, Howard Lederer is known for his serious, thoughtful, cool presence. He's an intimidating guy to have at your game -- he's six foot six and has a stare that makes you think he can see right through you. I had the pleasure of talking with Lederer at a charity tournament and found him incredibly friendly, clearly intelligent, and very level-headed.
Howard Lederer's Notable Poker Tournament Wins:
2003 World Poker Tour $2,500 Buy-in No Limit Hold'em Championship
2002 World Poker Tour $10,000 Buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Main Event
2001 World Series of Poker $5,000 Buy-in Deuce to Seven Event
2000 World Series of Poker $5,000 Buy-in Omaha High-Low Event
Howard Lederer ‘s Origins:
Lederer spent much of his early days in poker playing at the legendary Mayfair Club in New York City, with now-famous players such as Dan Harrington and Erik Seidel. Together, they tested each other in the new game in town: No-Limit Texas Hold'em.
