Should You Agree to Chop the Blinds in Hold'em?

Pros and Cons of Chopping Blinds in Texas Hold'em

By Toby Bochan, About.com

When you're playing Texas Hold'em, there are times when everyone folds to the blinds and the question is raised: Do you chop?

Now, whether or not you have in the past, consider a few things before answering:

1) If you're playing a limit hold'em game at a casino where they take a rake on each hand, the answer will depend on the players. If it's a no-flop no-rake situation, it is probably to your financial advantage to just chop -- you usually won't make a lot of money playing against one player and it slows the game down.
2) If you're playing a no-limit game, my advice is to never chop the blinds. Ultimately, you have been handed the ideal heads-up situation on a plate, and you should take advantage of that.
3) If you're in a home game, you should probably chop. Home games are often friendly games and you don't want to alienate yourself or be banned from the game for being "a jerk."
