Great Poker Quotes
I always enjoy playing poker -- that's one of the reasons I do it, but I'm considering putting the following quote up on my wall, because often I have so much fun, I forget that...
"When we play, we must realize, before anything else, that we are out to make money."
Right.... Thanks, Sklansky. Need poker inspiration? Read more great poker quotes.
World Series of Poker Main Event Champions

Will Joseph Cada be Youngest WSOP Champ?
The November Nine have played down to the final two men, a 46-year-old self-employed logger and a 21-year-old poker pro who will meet Monday to play heads up for the title. While many were rooting for Phil Ivey to be in the final two (and win it), it is pretty exciting that Joseph Cada at 21 is in a position to become the youngest ever World Series of Poker Main Event Champion, taking that honor away from last year's champ, Peter Eastgate, who was 22 when he won in 2008. According to WSOP president and commissioner, Jeffrey Pollack, it has already been a thrilling final table and promises to continue to be a great heads-up match: "To see Joe Cada go from about two million in chips to nearly 136 million in chips - and to watch Darvin Moon go from chip leader to short stack and back again - was truly astonishing. The heads-up competition is going to be outstanding." Cada goes into the final heads-up match as the chip leader with 135,950,000 while Darvin Moon will have with 58,850,000 in chips.

One way to broaden your poker knowledge and fun is to try a new poker game. I often recommend a new game to people who ask based on what their current favorite game is. In my home game, it was easy to introduce Omaha to the gang, since it's a lot like Texas Hold'em... only you get four hole cards instead of two. And you have to use two to make your hand. Since it tends to be an "action" game, the boys at the home game took to it immediately. If you're looking to add a game, here's a list of new poker games to add to your home game based on what you already like to play!
'South Park' does 'Poker Face'
Wednesday night's South Park featured Cartman doing his rendition of one of our favorite poker songs, Lady Gaga's Poker Face. Watch his version here. I can't remember any other cartoon character singing a poker song, though I certainly can picture Homer Simpson singing "The Gambler." Check out the rest of the best poker songs and where you can catch some good poker on TV.
Casino Poker Table Games Rules
Not every casino in the world has a poker room, but almost every casino has table games, from blackjack to a variety of poker-based games. Here's how to play some of my favorites:
Poker Position 101
While watching any of the poker TV shows, you might hear a commentator say someone is "making a move in late position" or someone is making a strong play "under the gun." Since players at a poker table rarely even leave their seat, you might not understand at first what position means or how it moves around in poker. Here's a simple article to explain what position means in poker and how it matters.
