Spent a disappointing but interesting week playing satellites at the Mid States Poker Tour. Only cashed in one single-table tournament, and busted out of the bigger satellite that got me into a mere seven from the money. Still, it was nice to get out and get a few solid days in a row playing cards live again. I've been playing mostly at Running Aces lately, and this series was held at Canterbury Park, so I saw a number of old friends I hadn't seen in a while, and got to talk some poker with a number of solid pros. Also got teased mercilessly about my bad run, but that's the nature of the business. Can't say I don't do the same to them when they take a beat.
Since I was playing so many of them, I wrote a little guide to satellite play.
