Back to Poker Basics: Five-Card Draw
Monday February 4, 2008
In my weekly home game, there was a long period where all we played, all night, was Texas Hold'em. But in the last year, we've started back on dealer's choice games and I've remembered my love for the first poker game I ever learned, Five-Card Draw.
It's especially interesting to play with a group of people I've been playing with for months and even years now -- to see how well I really can read them through their various poker tells -- when there are no community cards to help figure out what they might have. We throw in a few five-card draw poker variations too, which adds a variety and spice that we had been missing for a while.
