Poker Slang
Tuesday July 24, 2007
This weekend I didn't play poker (well, except for a $100 H.O.R.S.E. freeroll on Full Tilt, but that hardly counts) but yet I found that even when bowling, I couldn't escape thoughts of poker. Witness the bowling ball pictured. I couldn't resist this ball because "the hammer" is a Texas Hold'em poker slang term for two certain hole cards: 7-2, the worst starting hand in Hold'em. Never mind that this ball weighed a million pounds, I had to have it in my alley. Lets just say my first game I didn't break a 100. There's a reason you're not supposed to play the hammer, I guess, in any game. But it's still fun...
