Phil Ivey leads Mirage Poker Showdown Final Table
Wednesday May 23, 2007
The World Poker Tour is kicking off its 6th season with quite a fabulous final table: Phil Ivey is in the lead with 1,395,000 in chips, but Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken is not far behind with just over 1.2M chips, and both these pros are joined by Amnon Filippi who is hanging on with 571,000 chips. Will one of these names take the $1M+ prize or will the WPT soon make another lesser known famous? Cory Carroll, Jonathan Little, and Richard Kirsch sure hope so.
My money is on Ivey. This is his 6th WPT final table and I'd love to see him add a WPT title to his roster of World Series of Poker bracelets. I'll be following the action at Pokerwire & the official WPT site to find out!
