Most Popular Poker Pros

As the year winds down to an end, it's always interesting to me to look at some of this here poker site's statistics (yes, truly, I am at heart a math geek) and see what the most popular articles are. Among the pros this year, one man was most searched for: Jamie Gold, winner of the 2006 main event at the World Series of Poker. But if you count pictures of pros, one woman reigned supreme: Jennifer Tilly, pictured right. See who else made the top of the poker popularity count:

I personally think Jamie Gold was a fluke, he caught so many ridiculous cards it was not funny! Have or will we see him back at any other final tables in the near future, we will see but I would not bet on it! He had a great main event but that is where it may all end even with Johnny Chan’s help!
Jamie Gold may have won the WSOP Main Event title, but he is far from being the most popular–or respected–poker pro. Any list of most popular poker pros that INCLUDES the likes of Gold and Dannenmann and DOESN’T INCLUDE the sport’s living legend, Doyle Brunson, is highly suspect.
