World Series of Poker Main Event Begins

At last, the big dance will begin. Today is the first day of the $10,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em Main Event at the World Series of Poker. There will actually be four "1st days," with up to 2,200 people playing each day. As of 11 p.m. Thursday night, almost 8,000 players had entered, so there's still room for a few hundred more -- the max is reported to be 8,800 people. As I'm not in Vegas, I can't bring you live reports, but there are plenty of places to go to keep up with the action. Here are where I'll be spending my time:
Between the bunch, it'll be like I'm almost there. I'll of course be reporting what I can here. While we wait for the action to unfold, it's a good time to look back at how we got here:
