James Richburg Razzes The Matador
Monday July 24, 2006
Just a few hours ago, one of my players-to-watch this year, Carlos 'The Matador' Mortensen, gave up a World Series of Poker bracelet in the $1,500 Razz tournament to James Richburg. He battled a valiant and long battle, but in the end, it was James Richburg who was the last of the 409 entrants standing and won event #33. Razz is a fun to some and frustrating to many poker game that's entered my home game on some nights, and makes up the "R" in a H.O.R.S.E poker game, so while it's not as popular as Hold'em, it's still well-worth learning, in my opinion. I mean, 409 players is a lot, but it's nothing compared to the 8,000 people who are expected to show up starting this Friday for the $10,000 buy-in no-limit Hold'em main event. It's going to be quite a scene.
