Negreanu Makes a Final Table at World Series of Poker

Wednesday July 5, 2006
Daniel Negreanu Huzzah! One of my fave, fave, fave players, Daniel Negreanu (right), has made the final table in Event 8 at the World Series of Poker which is a $2000 buy-in Omaha hi/lo event. Negreanu is not only one of the best poker players in the world, but a joy to watch play. I don't know if there is anyone better at reading poker tells than Negreanu out there.

The chip counts and final table members in Event 8, via pokerwire:
  • 1. Jeff Madsen 225,000
  • 2. Jack Zwerner 189,000
  • 3. Daniel Negreanu 166,000
  • 4. Bob Mangino 165,000
  • 5. Florante Mandap 156,000
  • 5. Robert Collins 156,000
  • 7. Russ Salzer 142,000
  • 8. Cong Do 99,000
  • 9. Steve Lustig 31,000
Today in Vegas, the first Seven-card stud tournament event of the WSOP begins, and the $5,000 no-limit Hold'em tournament goes into day 2, with 60 players left in the action including Phil Hellmuth, who's 3rd in chips.
