The $2,500 no-limit
Texas Hold'em event of the
World Series of Poker has just finished up in Las Vegas, and while I shouted at the computer screen "Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oy Oy OY!" when
Joseph Hachem overtook Russ "Dutch" Boyd for the chip lead at one point today, the day was Dutch's in the end. I am a big fan of Joseph Hachem (that's me & him left), who
won last year's Main Event at the WSOP, and would hav loved loved loved to see him win another bracelet tonight, it's still very impressive to see him finish second in another big event. Alas, Dutch's luck today could not be beat, and when Joe moved all-in with AQ, Dutch called with A5, but he hit the five he needed to win heads-up against Hachem and take home his first bracelet & $475,712.

Toby, great call on your prediction that Juan Carlos Mortensen would have a big WSOP this year. Just saw he made another final table.
Thanks — I think it’s going to be a good year for past champs overall.
Meanwhile, check out this pic of Mortensen building chip towers:
