Varkonyi wins Extreme Poker Tournament
Robert Varkonyi, who won the 2002 World Series of Poker main event and then sort of disappeared, has pulled a poker tournament win out of his hat -- while wearing just a t-shirt. To explain: This tournament, Interpoker's 2nd "Extreme Poker" event, was held in the Arctic, and was held outdoors in temperatures that dropped as low as -10 Farhenheit. On top of which, the players had the option of repurchasing lost chips in exchange for their coat, which Varkonyi did. Still, while freezing he managed to "freeze out" (har har) his competition and take home the top prize.
