Poker Position
Last night I was at a limit Hold'em tournament, and I once again was struck with how much position matters in poker. Most of the time when I was on the button, I raised and won the pot. I didn't even need to use my skills in reading poker tells -- though of course that helped. I hadn't played a tournament with real people in a while, and it was a good reminder of the pleasure and advantages it offers -- as well as how important good poker etiquette and following the rules is. One fellow didn't say "raise" and ended up losing a bundle when he failed to get the blinds out of the pot. I'd say "poor fellow" but I ended up the night as poor as him, too.
