Poker Variations to Try

I know that an annual Thanksgiving tradition many families have, including my own, is to gather round the card table for some post-turkey poker. Now in my family, Texas Hold'em is a new addition, we're more of a seven-card stud and five-card draw family.

But once the cards are in the air and the liquor is flowing, we start throwing in "crazy" games like "crazy pineapple" and other poker variations. If you're playing in a family home game and want to introduce a new brand of poker, make one of these games your dealer's choice:

• If you like Hold'em... try Omaha High or Pineapple
• If you like stud... give one of these seven-card stud variations a whirl
• If you like draw... try out a five-card draw variation
