Busting Out and Bad Beat Stories
Wednesday July 13, 2005
With 5619 players starting in the World Series of Poker Championship No-Limit Hold'em Event, there will eventually be 5,618 stories about "the hand that ended it" and somehow, even more stories about "bad beats" -- since each player can have more than one story about losing a hand that they were a favorite to win.
With only 58 players remaining after Day 4, some notable stories have already popped up about busting out of the WSOP. Each one makes me feel a little bit better about not being in Vegas. Some notable reads:
--Busted Out at Poker Flats: Ken Adams chronicles busting out on Day 2, in 780th place.
--Wil Wheaton (yes, that Wil Wheaton) has great write-ups of his tournament play and exits.
--Love and Casino War gives his take on the good and bad of the WSOP and his experience in the $2500 pot-limit Hold'em event.
--At Slate Paul Phillips entertaingly chronicles his experiences at this year's and past WSOPs.
Since Mike "the Mouth" Matusow ended yesterday as one of the chip leaders, I'm sure the rest of the tournament will be...colorful.
