And on the 4th Day, Everyone Got Paid

Tuesday July 12, 2005
So the fourth day of the main event of the World Series of Poker is going on, and as I write this, there are less than 150 of the original 5,619 who entered still playing. At this point, no one is going home empty handed as the prize pool pays out the top 10% of finishers. Players knocked out today already still garned almost $40,000 according to Sir Paul McGuire (I have decided he deserves to be knighted for his valiant service to the poker community). He continues live blogging the event despite media restrictions popping up.

So, to sum up the action for you before I go catch up on Otis's great WSOP blog for PokerStars:

Pros still in it: Phil Ivey, Greg Raymer (who started Day 4 as the chip leader), Mike "the Mouth" Matusow, John Juanda, and Howard Lederer

Gone, but not forgotten: Young Phan, Clonie Gowen, Sam Farha, Barbara Enright, Dutch Boyd, and Paul Darden.

Also, if you can't wait to watch the action on ESPN, I can't recommend Phil Gordon and Card Club on Lord Admiral Radio's podcasts from the last few weeks enough. They make me feel like I'm in Vegas.
