The World Series of Poker Main Event Begins

I can almost feel the excitement here in New York City all the way from Vegas -- that's how big the $10,000 main event of this year's WSOP is. The 10 million dollar first prize will be fought over by an expected 5,000+ people. If you're wondering what all the hubub is about or how it got to be so big, read about the history of the World Series of Poker. They'll be playing no-limit Texas Hold'em from today until next Friday, July 15th. Here's a WSOP schedule which includes other games still going on.

Unfortunately, I'm stuck here in NYC, but there are plenty of ways to keep up with the action:
