Poker & Hollywood
Wednesday June 8, 2005
Not only are all the stars of poker in Vegas for the WSOP, but the stars of Hollywood are coming in for the action too. Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Ed Norton, and Leonardo DiCaprio are expected to play in the main event, but according to sportsbook.com, Affleck has the best chance of the bunch -- since he has won a tournament before (the 2004 California State Poker Championship), they put him at 150-1 to win.
The other boys get 250-1, which isn't too insulting when you consider they're giving former WSOP champion Chris "Jesus" Ferguson 50-1 odds of winning.
It's fun when poker and TV and hollywood come together. Well, I enjoy watching all that poker on TV anyway.
Oh, also, I just noticed that Wil Wheaton (yes, of Star Trek and Stand by Me), who keeps a good blog with much poker content mixed in with other interesting bits, is taking the reins at pplayer.com this month.
